SSH / SFTP

Read remote files with a dedicated account and verified SSH host key.

  1. Create a read-only SSH/SFTP account scoped to the intended source directory.
  2. Obtain the server's SHA-256 host-key fingerprint from its administrator through a trusted channel. This is a server identity check, not a search-provider setting.
  3. Add SSH / SFTP in CogLake. Enter hostname, port, username, remote root and verified host-key fingerprint. Choose the supported password or private-key authentication method.
  4. Test connectivity, select the sync interval and folder scope, grant CogLake role access, then save.
  5. Import a small folder and verify indexed content and denied access for an unrelated user.

Do not accept an unexpected host-key change without verifying it with the server administrator. For private network destinations, the CogLake operator must configure network access. Keep credentials restricted to the source; the connector does not need shell administration rights.

Import a read-only filesystem mounted into the CogLake runtime.
