Getting started
Sign in, understand the navigation, and complete your first knowledge workflow.
Open the CogLake address provided by your organization and sign in with either:
- your organization account through the configured identity provider, or
- a local account when local sign-in is enabled by an administrator.
If your organization enforces multi-factor authentication, complete it at the identity provider before returning to CogLake.
Understand the navigation
The left navigation contains the areas available to your role:
- Overview summarizes visible knowledge and recent activity.
- Knowledge Base contains internal workspaces and connected sources.
- Discover searches across everything you are permitted to access.
- Administration appears with the sections allowed by your administrative permissions.
Missing navigation items normally indicate that your role does not include the required permission.
A useful first workflow
1Choose a source
2Open a document
3Search in Discover
4Inspect the match
5Open the original
- Open Knowledge Base and select a workspace or connected source.
- Browse a folder, open a document, and inspect its preview.
- Open Discover, enter a question or distinctive phrase, and run the search.
- Open a result with View source file to see the matching content in context.
- Use Open source when you need the original provider location.
Administrators should next review roles and permissions and configure the first connector.
